In honor of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2022, Stephenson Technologies Corporation (STC) hosted open house tours focused on household digital technologies and the vulnerabilities they present. Cybersecurity Awareness Month is held every October in a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safe and secure online. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) co-lead this awareness effort as an opportunity to increase the Nation’s resilience against cyber threats by addressing ways they pose safety and welfare concerns.

Now in its 19th year, the 2022 Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme — “See Yourself in Cyber” — demonstrates that while cybersecurity may seem like a complex subject, ultimately, it’s really all about people . This October will focus on the “people” part of cybersecurity, providing information and resources to help the public, and ensure all individuals and organizations make smart decisions whether on the job, at home or at school – now and in the future.

STC plans to use its Internet of Things (IoT) Living Lab to educate government, industry, and citizens on the dangers of smart devices. Our goal is to increase awareness on the safety and privacy concerns tech devices bring into your home, and hope attendees can leave knowing the proper ways to protect their home and businesses while using these devices.

If you missed our public event that was held October 2022, private tours are available by request. STC Engineers will perform real-world demonstrations that expose the cyber vulnerabilities of commonly purchased smart devices, such as baby monitors, smart TVs and speaker systems. The IoT Living Lab is in partnership with Level Homes and the 2,457 sq.ft. Living Lab features over 30 smart device stations.
